Helped by a few volunteers, Moss handed out sandwiches Saturday until the food ran out. Moss, who recently moved from New York to Denver, ended up on the street with his boy, Zhi, after his arrangements for housing fell through.

Moss, who recently moved from New York to Denver, ended up on the street with his boy, Zhi, after his arrangements for housing fell through. And then he met And then he met philanthropist Leo Logothetis on a downtown street.

Moss explained what happened to him. He wept as he held his son and said he had a job as a barber, but nowhere to sleep. Logothetis, author of “The Kindness Diaries,” has been working to generate goodwill across the world.

On the spot, he told Moss that he was going to give him $1,000 and a week in a hotel. A GoFundMe page was established. And in little more than 13 days, donations surpassed $55,000. Moss has found a place in a shelter for the time being, he said in a video posted to YouTube. “I love you all,” he said. “Thank you."
